In 2020 the estate entered into an Option Agreement with solar developer Enso Energy to lease about 130 acres of arable land for a new solar project. This project would provide Wroxall with an important  pollutant diversification from uncertain farming income and offers the National Grid a major new renewable source of electricity close to Birmingham and it’s surroundings.

Although granted planning permission at Warwick District Council in July 2023, the project is now being reviewed at the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. A final decision is expected in the spring/summer of 2024.
